Description
THRACIAN Black Ceramic Men's Ring
The THRACIAN is a black ceramic men's wedding ring set with a real koa wood inlay in 8mm width. Custom engraved and shipped from our Texas workshop. Free US shipping, free inside engraving, Aydins Lifetime Warranty, and lifetime sizing. Every THRACIAN ships ready to wear.
Color: Black
Available Sizes: 5-14, including half sizes
Width: 8mm
Who the THRACIAN is for
The THRACIAN carries Hawaiian heritage in its grain. Koa was historically reserved for royalty, and the curl pattern shifts color as the ring catches the light. For grooms drawn to natural materials, surfers, or anyone who wants a ring with warmth that metal alone can't match.
A very unique Black Ceramic wedding band with an inlay of rare Carpathian wood (also referred to as English Elm or the scientific name of Ulmus Procera) of medium reddish-brown color. Free inside laser engraving available, does not delay your order.
- Backed by the Aydins Lifetime Warranty against manufacturing defects and lifetime sizing exchange.
- Black Ceramic Holds its finish and color over time. Note, the wood inlay is protected by a resin that can be scratched.
- Available in 6mm and 8mm widths. Other widths available as a custom order.
- Comfort fit. Rounded interior glides over the knuckle for all-day comfort.

About Black Ceramic
Black ceramic is a high-tech engineered material. It's harder than steel, lighter than tungsten, and the color is permanent. Unlike black-coated metal rings (PVD or IP plating) that wear off at the edges over time, the THRACIAN's black goes all the way through. Its color runs through the material rather than sitting on the surface.
Ceramic is highly scratch-resistant but brittle under sharp impact. Drop it on a hard surface and it can chip. The flip side: in an emergency, ceramic rings can be cracked off the finger quickly with standard ER tools.
Black ceramic holds its mirror finish without polishing, and is noticeably lighter on the finger than tungsten. The THRACIAN stays glossy with a soft cloth, no jeweler's polish required.
About the Koa Wood Inlay
Koa is a Hawaiian hardwood, historically reserved for royalty and now grown on managed forest land in Hawaii. The THRACIAN's koa wood inlay shows the signature curl and chatoyance the wood is famous for: the grain shifts between honey-gold and deep amber as the ring catches the light, an optical effect from the wood's natural fiber alignment.
Each piece of koa is one-of-a-kind. The grain pattern, color depth, and figure vary across every cut. Koa is dense enough to be durable in a ring inlay but warm enough to take to body temperature instantly, giving the THRACIAN a distinctive feel that metal-only rings can't match.
Care: koa is real wood. Keep it relatively dry, avoid soaking in pools or hot tubs, and condition the surface every 6-12 months with our included ring oil. With basic upkeep the wood deepens in color over the years rather than fading.

Sizing & Fit
The THRACIAN is comfort fit, meaning the inside of the band is rounded rather than flat, which makes it easier to slide over the knuckle and more comfortable for all-day wear. Comfort-fit rings typically size a half-size smaller than standard-fit rings, so if you normally wear a size 10 standard-fit, you'll likely wear a 9.5 in the THRACIAN.
Available sizes: 5-14, including half sizes.
Not sure what size you wear? Use our free ring sizing guide, or order any size and use our lifetime sizing to swap if it doesn't fit perfectly the first time.
Care Instructions
The THRACIAN's black ceramic is color-stable for life, with no plating to wear off and no need for refinishing. Wipe with a soft cloth for daily clean, warm soapy water for deeper buildup. Avoid drops on tile or concrete (ceramic is hard but brittle) and skip abrasive cleaners.
Engraving
Every THRACIAN includes free inside laser engraving. Add a wedding date, initials, coordinates, or any phrase up to 30 characters. Engraving is permanent, professionally applied, and does not delay shipping.
Frequently Asked Questions
What color is the THRACIAN?
The THRACIAN features black with a real koa wood inlay.
What sizes does the THRACIAN come in?
The THRACIAN is available in sizes 5-14, including half sizes. If you're between sizes, lifetime sizing is included, so you can order, try it, and swap if needed.
Is the THRACIAN comfort fit?
Yes. The THRACIAN is comfort fit, meaning the inside of the band is gently rounded so it slides over the knuckle easily and sits flat against the finger. Most wearers find it comfortable enough to forget they're wearing it.
Is the THRACIAN durable for daily wear?
Black ceramic is highly scratch-resistant and the color goes all the way through, so it doesn't wear off the way coated black rings do. The THRACIAN stays glossy for life with minimal care, though ceramic can chip if dropped on hard surfaces.
Is the THRACIAN suitable for sensitive skin?
If you have a metal sensitivity, contact us about this ring's full composition before ordering.
Can the THRACIAN be engraved?
Yes. Free inside laser engraving is included with every THRACIAN. You can add a date, initials, a phrase, or coordinates. Engraving doesn't delay shipping.
Is the koa wood inlay real?
Yes. The THRACIAN's koa wood inlay is real Hawaiian koa, with the natural curl and chatoyance the wood is famous for.
What if the ring doesn't fit?
Lifetime sizing is included with every THRACIAN. If it doesn't fit, ship it back and we'll send a different size, even years after the original purchase.
How long does shipping take?
Shipping is free within the United States. Please allow 1–3 business days for processing before dispatch. Please allow 1–3 business days for processing before dispatch.
What is Aydins' return policy?
See our returns and exchanges page for full details.
Can the THRACIAN be cut off in an emergency?
Yes. Both tungsten and ceramic rings can be safely removed in an emergency. Hospitals use a tool that cracks the band cleanly off the finger without needing to cut through it. This is actually a safety advantage over gold or platinum, which require more time-consuming cutting.

FAQ's
How does inside engraving work?
Free with every order. You can engrave text, dates, coordinates, fingerprints, handwriting, signatures, or a custom image. Standard fonts are included; if you want a specific font or custom artwork, send us a sample after checkout and we'll match it. Engraving is permanent and laser-etched, not stamped. If your ring offers both the inside and outside, one side is included and the both-sides option and its charge show with your choices.
Do you offer custom sizes or widths?
Yes, within reason. We can do half sizes, sizes below 5 and above 15, and non-standard widths on most styles. Reach out before ordering with what you need and we'll quote the timeline. Some materials (ceramic, full-engraved patterns) have manufacturing limits we'll be upfront about.
Which material is right for me?
Tungsten is hardest and most scratch-resistant; great for daily wear and active hands. Titanium is lighter and softer in feel. Ceramic is hard like tungsten but lighter and a true permanent black. Solid 14k gold is softer than tungsten and will pick up character marks over time, which most buyers like; pick gold if you want a traditional precious metal. Each ring's Material tab covers the specifics for that piece.
Where is my ring engraved?
Your engraving is applied at our Texas workshop, and your order ships from the heart of Texas. We've been engraving wedding bands in Texas since 2011.

Material - Ceramic
Base material: Ceramic
Inlay: Wood
About ceramic
Ceramic rings are made from an advanced technical ceramic, not pottery. A ceramic band is light on the hand, much lighter than tungsten.
Finishes and inlays
Inlays such as wood, opal, carbon fiber or stone are separate materials set into the band. Some ceramic rings also include metal details, such as a tungsten inlay or edge; this tab describes the ceramic band itself.
Worth knowing
- Ceramic is hard and does not bend. A sharp impact or a drop onto a hard surface can chip or crack it.
- Ceramic cannot be resized. Size exchanges are handled through the Aydins Lifetime Sizing program for the original purchaser. See Returns & Exchanges for details.
- In an emergency, a ceramic ring cannot be cut off with a standard ring cutter. It is removed by cracking it instead.
Care
- Wash with mild soap and warm water, then dry with a soft cloth.
- Avoid knocks against hard surfaces such as stone counters or weights.
- Skip ultrasonic cleaners and jewelry dips, which can be hard on inlays.
Your ring is covered by the Aydins Lifetime Warranty against breaks and material defects. See the Warranty tab for details.
