Use a ring you already own

If you have a ring that fits the correct finger, this is the easiest at-home method.

  1. Choose a ring that fits the correct finger comfortably.
  2. Measure the inside diameter in millimeters, straight across the open circle.
  3. Match the diameter to the chart below.
Tip: Place the ring on paper, trace the inside, and measure across the widest point.

Measure with string or paper

This works well when you do not have a ring to measure.

  1. Cut a thin strip of paper or string about 4 inches long.
  2. Wrap it around the base of the finger, snug but able to slide over the knuckle.
  3. Mark where the strip overlaps.
  4. Lay it flat and measure the length in millimeters.
  5. Use that number as your finger circumference.

Get sized by a local jeweler

Recommended if you want the most confident answer before ordering.

  • Most jewelry stores can size your finger in about 30 seconds.
  • Ask for your US ring size.
  • Ask to be measured for comfort fit, because that is how Aydins rings are made.

A note on Comfort Fit

Every Aydins ring is made comfort fit. The inside of the band is slightly domed instead of flat, which helps the ring slide on and off easier and feel less tight throughout the day.

A comfort-fit ring may feel about half a size larger than a standard-fit ring of the same number.

If you were sized in a standard-fit ring, consider going down a half size for an Aydins ring. If your jeweler sized you specifically for comfort fit, use that size as-is.

Pro tips for an accurate size

  • Measure when your hands are warm. Cold fingers can give a falsely small reading.
  • Measure later in the day. Fingers usually swell slightly as the day goes on.
  • Account for your knuckle. If your knuckle is larger, make sure the ring can slide over it.
  • Size the correct hand. Your dominant hand can be a quarter to half size larger.
  • Between two sizes? Round up. A slightly loose ring is more wearable than one that is too tight.

What if I get the wrong size?

Sizing yourself at home is never as accurate as a jeweler's sizer, so every Aydins ring comes with safety nets: a free first exchange within 30 days for non-engraved rings, plus lifetime sizing for the original purchaser. Engraved and unengraved rings both qualify for the Lifetime Sizing Program.

Straight answers to the most common sizing questions.

Is comfort fit the same as standard fit?

No. Comfort fit feels about a half size larger because of the domed inside. If you've only been sized for standard fit, go down a half size for Aydins.

Can I resize a tungsten ring?

Tungsten and ceramic rings cannot be physically resized because they are cut from a solid block of material. Instead, we exchange the ring for a different size under our Lifetime Sizing Program.

Can I resize a 14k gold ring?

Custom 14k gold rings cannot be sized. They have to be remade. The exchange fee for custom 14k gold is $100.

What size is most common for men?

Most men's rings sell between size 9 and size 11, with size 10 being the most common. This is only an average, so please size your actual finger.

Can I order a ring sizer to test?

Do engraved rings qualify for lifetime sizing?

Yes. Engraved and unengraved rings both qualify for the Lifetime Sizing Program for the original purchaser.
