Every Aydins ring is covered by the Aydins Lifetime Warranty against breaks and material defects. Automatic on every order, no purchase required.

What is covered

• Cracks, shatters, and breaks in the ring itself
• Material defects in the metal, plating, coating, or inlay
• Inlay separation caused by material defect (not caused by impact or wear)

How coverage works (non-precious metal rings)

Applies to tungsten, titanium, ceramic, damascus, cobalt, stainless, silicone.

• First 6 months: free replacement, no fee.
• 6 to 12 months: $34.50 flat fee.
• 12 months and after: $54.50 flat fee.

How coverage works (precious metal rings)

Applies to platinum, 10k / 14k / 18k gold, sterling silver, sterling silver with gold plating.

• First 6 months: free replacement, no fee.
• After 6 months: quoted per case based on current metal market prices, because a warranty replacement in a precious metal requires new metal at current spot pricing.

What is not covered

• Normal wear over time (finish dulling, patina, small daily-use scratches)
• Damage from drops, impact, or excessive force
• Damage from chlorine, harsh chemicals, or abrasive cleaning
• Intentional damage
• Loss in shipping (covered only if you added the Aydins Protection Plan at checkout, first 6 months)
• Theft (covered only if you added the Aydins Protection Plan and can show FedEx proof of delivery to the correct address)
• Damage from at-home resizing attempts (use Lifetime Sizing instead)

Your finger size will change over the years. Lifetime Sizing keeps your ring fitting.

Original purchaser only. Lifetime Sizing applies to the original purchaser of the ring. It is not transferable.

• First 30 days: free exchange (unengraved rings). Engraved rings within the first 30 days: $34.50 surcharge, waived once if you added the Aydins Protection Plan at checkout.
• Year 1 after 30 days: $34.50 flat fee.
• Year 2 and after: $54.50 flat fee.
• Precious metal rings: quoted per case based on current metal market prices.

Shipping split: You ship your original ring to Aydins. We ship the replacement back to you at no cost.

What Ceramic Is

Ceramic, in jewelry terms, refers to high-tech advanced ceramic, not pottery. It's typically made from titanium carbide or zirconium oxide compounds that are kiln-fired at extreme temperatures into a dense, hardened material. The result is a wedding band that's lighter than tungsten, harder than titanium, and finished in a color that's part of the material itself rather than a coating.

The same family of ceramics is used in luxury watch cases (Rado, Hublot, Omega) and high-performance industrial applications. For wedding bands, it's the modern alternative to traditional metals.

Why People Choose It

• Permanent color, all the way through. Black ceramic is black throughout the material. White ceramic is white throughout. The color can't chip, fade, or wear off because it isn't on the surface, it's the material.
• Highly scratch-resistant. Ceramic rates between 7 and 8 on the Mohs scale, harder than titanium and most precious metals. It holds its finish under daily wear.
• Lightweight. Ceramic is about 40% lighter than tungsten and lighter than most gold rings. Comfortable for all-day wear without the heaviness some men dislike.
• Hypoallergenic. Ceramic is biologically inert, so there's no reaction with the skin and no metal allergies to worry about.
• Smooth, modern feel. The polished surface has a distinctive silky finish that's different from any metal. People often comment on the way ceramic feels the first time they put one on.

The Tradeoff Worth Knowing

Ceramic's hardness is also its limitation. Like tungsten, ceramic can crack or shatter under sharp impact. This is rare in normal wear, but it's worth understanding before you buy.

Two practical things follow from this:

• It can't be cut off the finger with traditional ring saws. In an emergency, a hospital uses a small tool to crack the ring at two points, which removes it cleanly. Most ERs are familiar with this.
• Resizing isn't possible. If your size changes, we replace the ring through the Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program rather than try to alter it. It's how high-tech ceramic works.

Comfort Fit, Explained

Every Aydins ceramic ring is built with a comfort-fit interior. The inside of the band is gently domed instead of flat, which reduces friction against the finger and makes the ring sit smoothly even when your hand swells slightly (heat, humidity, exercise, long flights).

One note on sizing. Comfort-fit rings often run a half size larger than standard fit, so if you've measured for a non-comfort-fit ring before, order a half size down. If you're unsure, our Ring Sizing Guide has three different ways to find your size at home.

Color Options

Ceramic comes primarily in two colors, both intrinsic to the material:

• Black ceramic. A deep, neutral black that doesn't fade or wear. The most popular choice in the category and a clean alternative to black-plated tungsten, since ceramic doesn't have a plated layer that can wear over time.
• White ceramic. A bright, modern white that resembles white gold or platinum but never tarnishes, yellows, or needs replating. A favorite among buyers who want the look of white gold without the upkeep.

Care & Cleaning

• Clean with mild soap and warm water, dry with a soft cloth.
• Skip the ultrasonic cleaners and chemical jewelry dips. Ceramic doesn't need them.
• No special precautions for showering, swimming, or chemicals. Ceramic is inert and doesn't react.
• The surface holds its polish under normal wear, but avoid dropping the ring on hard surfaces. Like all hard ceramics, the same property that resists scratches makes the material vulnerable to sharp impact.
