Platinum vs 18k white gold
Both are white metals, but platinum contains 95% pure platinum where 18k white gold is only 75% gold with rhodium plating that wears over years. Platinum keeps its color forever. Platinum weighs about 60% more than 18k gold at the same width, so a 6mm platinum band feels noticeably heavier on the finger. What's Covered

What's Not Covered
The warranty covers how we built the ring, not what happens to it after you take it home. The following aren't covered:
- Damage from drops, sharp impact, or excessive force
- Wear caused by chlorine, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning, or improper care
- Lost rings
- Damage from at-home sizing or resizing attempts (always use the Lifetime Sizing Program)
- Normal cosmetic wear over time on softer metals (small scratches, patina)
Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program
Your finger size will change over the years. The Lifetime Sizing Program is how we make sure your ring keeps fitting, no matter how long you've owned it.
It works like this:
- If your size changes at any point in your life, we will send you the same ring in your new size for a small re-sizing fee, not the full retail price.
- You ship your original ring back to us, and we ship the replacement out to you.
- The full process is handled through our Returns & Exchanges portal, so you can track everything from start to finish.
The exact process depends on the metal (some can be resized, others are replaced), but the outcome is the same: you stay in a ring that fits, for life.

FAQ's
Is this ring solid platinum or plated?
This ring is solid platinum, 95 percent pure (PT950 alloy standard). It is not gold with a platinum finish, not silver with a platinum plating, and not a platinum-clad base metal. The whole ring is platinum through and through, which is why it holds its color and its weight over decades of daily wear. The remaining 5 percent of the alloy is usually iridium or ruthenium, both platinum-group metals that add strength without changing the color or the skin-safe properties.
How does platinum compare to 14k white gold or 18k white gold?
Both platinum and white gold look silver-white on the finger, but they get there differently. White gold is yellow gold mixed with white metals and then rhodium plated to look bright white. That rhodium plating wears off over 3 to 5 years and needs to be reapplied. Platinum is white to the core, no plating needed, and stays that color forever. Platinum is also denser and heavier than white gold at the same width. If you want a wedding band that keeps its finish permanently and feels substantial, platinum is the choice.
Is platinum good for daily wear?
Yes. Platinum is one of the most wear-friendly metals for a wedding band. It is durable, tarnish-free, and dense enough that it does not warp under everyday pressure. Unlike softer gold, platinum develops a subtle patina from years of daily contact, which many wearers prefer to a polished look. If you want the polished shine back at any point, we can refinish it under the Aydins Lifetime Warranty program. Platinum handles gym, work, dishes, and travel without any special care needed beyond an occasional wipe with a soft cloth.
Can this ring be engraved?
Yes. Free inside engraving is included on every order, up to 30 characters. Engraving is applied at our Texas workshop the day your order comes in. Common engravings include wedding date, initials, a short message, or a coordinate. Because engraving is included free, you do not pay extra to personalize the ring. If you exchange or resize the ring later under the Aydins Lifetime Sizing program, the replacement ring is re-engraved free. Engraving is inside only; the outside of the ring stays smooth.
Is it comfort fit and what does that mean?
Yes, comfort fit. The inside of the ring is rounded rather than flat, so the ring slides over the knuckle easily and sits smooth against the finger without pinching. Comfort fit rings feel about a half size larger than a standard-fit ring, so if you are between sizes we recommend ordering your normal ring size. Comfort fit is the standard style for modern wedding bands because it is easier to put on and more comfortable during long wear. It also reduces the pressure marks that a flat interior can leave.
What widths and sizes do you offer?
Widths of 3mm, 5mm, and 8mm and ring sizes 5 through 13 in whole sizes. The 3mm width is a slim, minimalist look often chosen for a matching set. The 5mm width is the most common wedding band width. The 8mm width is bolder and more traditional. Sizing tip: if you are between sizes, go up a half size for comfort fit. If you already own a comfort fit ring that fits well, match that size. If you are unsure, contact us before ordering and we will send guidance.
What warranty, returns, and sizing policy backs this ring?
Every Aydins ring is backed by the Aydins Lifetime Warranty. Free coverage in the first 6 months against breaks and material defects. Returns are accepted within 30 days from delivery. Because this ring includes free engraving, engraved rings are exchange only rather than returnable. Free exchanges within the first 30 days on unengraved rings. Engraved exchanges within the first 30 days are $34.50. After the first 30 days for sizing, and after 6 months for warranty replacement, precious metal rings work a little differently than our tungsten or ceramic rings. Because platinum requires new metal at current market cost and metal prices fluctuate, sizing and warranty fees for platinum rings are quoted per case based on current platinum prices at the time. Contact us before ordering a sizing or warranty exchange and we will send a current quote. Lifetime Sizing is available for the original purchaser only.
How is a platinum ring shipped and how long does it take?
Platinum rings ship free FedEx 2-Day in the U.S. because they are over the $80 free-shipping threshold. Processing at our Texas workshop is 1 to 3 business days from the day your order comes in, and FedEx 2-Day is 2 business days in transit. Total order-to-door window is 3 to 5 business days. We ship internationally to Canada, UK, Germany, and Australia free of charge on all wedding bands. Worldwide shipping is available for other destinations at checkout. Ships from the heart of Texas.

Processing Time
