Sterling silver is 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with 7.5 percent copper for strength. The gold plated version starts with the same solid sterling silver base and adds a thin layer of gold on top, giving you the warm look of gold at a lower price. What's Covered

What's Not Covered
The warranty covers how we built the ring, not what happens to it after you take it home. The following aren't covered:
- Damage from drops, sharp impact, or excessive force
- Wear caused by chlorine, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning, or improper care
- Lost rings
- Damage from at-home sizing or resizing attempts (always use the Lifetime Sizing Program)
- Normal cosmetic wear over time on softer metals (small scratches, patina)
Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program
Your finger size will change over the years. The Lifetime Sizing Program is how we make sure your ring keeps fitting, no matter how long you've owned it.
It works like this:
- If your size changes at any point in your life, we will send you the same ring in your new size for a small re-sizing fee, not the full retail price.
- You ship your original ring back to us, and we ship the replacement out to you.
- The full process is handled through our Returns & Exchanges portal, so you can track everything from start to finish.
The exact process depends on the metal (some can be resized, others are replaced), but the outcome is the same: you stay in a ring that fits, for life.
How to File a Claim or Request a Resize
Visit our Returns & Exchanges page to start any warranty claim, resize request, or return. You'll be guided through our self-service portal, where you can submit your claim, upload photos if needed, and track status from start to finish.
For warranty claims, please include a clear photo of the ring so we can confirm coverage before shipping a replacement.

Is this ring solid sterling silver or plated?
The Solid Sterling variant is 92.5 percent pure silver alloyed with 7.5 percent copper, hallmarked .925. Sterling all the way through, not plated. The Gold Plated variant starts with the same solid .925 sterling silver base and adds a thin layer of gold on top for the warm gold appearance. The gold plating covers the entire ring surface and holds for years with normal wear. Both variants are real sterling silver at the core; the difference is the finish color.
How does sterling silver compare to gold or platinum?
Sterling silver is a real precious metal at a much lower price point than gold or platinum. Sterling is softer than 10k or 14k gold and shows scratches faster with daily wear. It also tarnishes slowly over time, meaning it darkens if not polished occasionally. Gold and platinum do not tarnish. Sterling silver is a strong choice if you want a real precious metal wedding band on a budget, as a starter ring, or as a matching set at accessible pricing. It is not the choice if you want a maintenance-free ring.
Is sterling silver good for daily wear?
Yes, with a bit of care. Sterling silver holds up to normal daily wear (work, gym, travel) but shows scratches faster than gold or platinum. It tarnishes over time from air exposure and skin oils; a quick polish with a silver cleaning cloth returns the shine. If you shower, swim, or work in water often, remove the ring to slow tarnish. The gold plated version tarnishes less on the plated surface but the plating can wear through over years of heavy wear.
What is the difference between Solid Sterling and Gold Plated?
Solid Sterling is the natural silver-white finish of .925 sterling silver, hallmarked. Gold Plated is the same solid sterling silver ring with a thin layer of gold applied to the outside for warm gold color. Both are 92.5 percent silver at the core. Gold plated is not solid gold; it is silver with gold on top. The gold plating on our sterling wedding bands is durable for years but can wear through with heavy daily use. If you want the look of gold and are okay with re-plating in the future, Gold Plated is the affordable path. If you want solid gold, our 10k or 14k gold listings are the right choice.
Can this ring be engraved?
Yes. Free inside engraving is included on every order, up to 30 characters. Engraving is applied at our Texas workshop the day your order comes in. Common engravings include wedding date, initials, a short message, or a coordinate. Because engraving is included free, you do not pay extra to personalize the ring. If you exchange or resize the ring later under the Aydins Lifetime Sizing program, the replacement ring is re-engraved free. Engraving is inside only; the outside of the ring stays smooth.
Is it comfort fit and what does that mean?
Yes, comfort fit. The inside of the ring is rounded rather than flat, so the ring slides over the knuckle easily and sits smooth against the finger without pinching. Comfort fit rings feel about a half size larger than a standard-fit ring, so if you are between sizes we recommend ordering your normal ring size. Comfort fit is the standard style for modern wedding bands because it is easier to put on and more comfortable during long wear. It also reduces the pressure marks that a flat interior can leave.
What warranty, returns, and sizing policy backs this ring?
Every Aydins ring is backed by the Aydins Lifetime Warranty. Free coverage in the first 6 months against breaks and material defects. Returns are accepted within 30 days from delivery. Because this ring includes free engraving, engraved rings are exchange only rather than returnable. Free exchanges within the first 30 days on unengraved rings. Engraved exchanges within the first 30 days are $34.50. After the first 30 days for sizing, and after 6 months for warranty replacement, precious metal rings work a little differently than our tungsten or ceramic rings. Because sterling silver requires new metal at current market cost and metal prices fluctuate, sizing and warranty fees for sterling silver rings are quoted per case based on current silver prices at the time. Contact us before ordering a sizing or warranty exchange and we will send a current quote. Lifetime Sizing is available for the original purchaser only.
How is a sterling silver ring shipped and how long does it take?
Free U.S. shipping on every sterling silver order. Orders at $80 and up ship free FedEx 2-Day (3 to 5 business days order to door). Orders under $80 ship free USPS Ground Advantage in 2 to 5 business days transit (3 to 8 business days order to door). Depending on which width and finish you choose, your order may fall into either shipping tier. Processing at our Texas workshop is 1 to 3 business days from the day your order comes in. We ship internationally to Canada, UK, Germany, and Australia free of charge on all wedding bands. Worldwide shipping is available for other destinations at checkout.

Processing Time

Express and Next-Day Delivery
Available at checkout for an additional fee. Express options reduce transit time after the order ships, but standard processing time still applies before the package goes out. For custom or made-to-order products, the listed production time still applies before any shipping method begins.
