Description

The GALESI is a solid 14k rose gold wedding band with a band of real fossilized dinosaur bone inlaid down the center. Every GALESI is built to order in our workshop, in your size, by hand. Real fossilized dinosaur bone — millions of years old — set into solid 14k gold. There is nothing else in your jewelry box like it.

Made To Order

We don't keep gold rings sitting in a warehouse waiting to be bought. Every GALESI is cut, set, and finished after you place the order — solid 14k gold worked by hand in your exact size. Production runs 6 to 10 weeks. That's not a delay; that's how long it takes one person to do this right. If you love the design but need it sooner, the same GALESI is also offered in tungsten and ceramic — both ship faster than the gold version.

The Metal

14k gold is the working sweet spot for a wedding band. 18k is softer and dings more easily on a hand that actually does things. 10k feels less like real gold and is harder on sensitive skin. 14k holds its shape under daily wear, takes a clean polish, and stays gold all the way through — not a plate that wears off. The interior is comfort-fit, meaning the inside is gently domed so the ring slides on cleanly and rests on the finger instead of pinching.

Rose gold has more copper in the alloy, which gives it that warm pinkish hue. It's a quieter, more modern color than yellow gold — distinctive without being loud. Solid gold has weight to it; you'll feel it on your hand. Over years of wear, it picks up a softer surface and fine character marks. That's gold doing what gold does, and most owners come to love it.

The Dinosaur Bone Inlay

Yes, real fossilized dinosaur bone — millions of years old. As the bone fossilized, minerals replaced the cellular structure cell by cell, leaving behind a stone-hard matrix that holds the original cellular pattern. Different fossil deposits produce different colors: red, blue, brown, green — each one a different mineral profile. The inlay is genuine fossilized bone, stabilized and channel-set flush into the gold. Care: avoid extreme heat and harsh chemicals, otherwise it's solid for daily wear. The pattern in the inlay is the actual cellular structure of the bone, magnified across millions of years and a few millimeters of jewelry. There is nothing else in your jewelry box like it.

Who It's For

The GALESI is for the buyer who wants a wedding ring that doesn't look like every other wedding ring. You like that this combines a precious metal with something you don't see often — a natural material with real history and character. You want a piece that starts a conversation when someone notices it on your hand. You're choosing a ring you'll wear for decades, and you'd rather wait two months for one built right than settle for something off a shelf.

Warranty

Lifetime Warranty

Every Aydins ring is covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. If something fails because of how the ring was made, not how it was worn, we'll take care of it through our warranty process.

What's Covered

  • Manufacturing defects in the ring or its finish
  • Premature failure of plating, coatings, or inlays under normal wear
  • Stone setting failure caused by the manufacturing process
  • Defects in the metal or material itself

What's Not Covered

The warranty covers how we built the ring, not what happens to it after you take it home. The following aren't covered:

  • Damage from drops, sharp impact, or excessive force
  • Wear caused by chlorine, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning, or improper care
  • Lost rings
  • Damage from at-home sizing or resizing attempts (always use the Lifetime Sizing Program)
  • Normal cosmetic wear over time on softer metals (small scratches, patina)

Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program

Your finger size will change over the years. The Lifetime Sizing Program is how we make sure your ring keeps fitting, no matter how long you've owned it.

It works like this:

  • If your size changes at any point in your life, we will send you the same ring in your new size for a small re-sizing fee, not the full retail price.
  • You ship your original ring back to us, and we ship the replacement out to you.
  • The full process is handled through our Returns & Exchanges portal, so you can track everything from start to finish.

The exact process depends on the metal (some can be resized, others are replaced), but the outcome is the same: you stay in a ring that fits, for life.

How to File a Claim or Request a Resize

Visit our Returns & Exchanges page to start any warranty claim, resize request, or return. You'll be guided through our self-service portal, where you can submit your claim, upload photos if needed, and track status from start to finish.

For warranty claims, please include a clear photo of the ring so we can confirm coverage before shipping a replacement.

Our Promise

Aydins has been making rings since 2011. The warranty and the sizing program exist for one reason: a wedding band is supposed to last as long as the marriage. We build the ring to do that, and we back it for as long as you wear it.

FAQ

How long does my ring take to make?

Six to ten weeks. Every Universal J Custom ring is cut, set, and finished after you place the order — solid 14k gold worked by hand in your exact size. We don't keep gold inventory sitting in a warehouse, which is why production runs longer than our tungsten and ceramic rings. The wait is the trade-off for getting a hand-built solid-gold ring with a real inlay set the way you want it.

Can I get the same design sooner?

Most of our gold designs are also offered in tungsten and ceramic, both of which ship in 1 to 3 business days. If you love the design but need it for a date sooner than 6 weeks out, contact us and we'll point you to the same look in a faster-shipping material.

Is the inlay material real?

Yes. Every inlay we use is the real material — natural opal, real fossilized dinosaur bone, real spectrolite, real lapis, real volcanic basalt, real exotic hardwood, real woven carbon fiber, real mother of pearl. Stones are stabilized for daily-wear durability where needed (opal, dinosaur bone, antler, wood) but they remain the natural material. The only inlay that isn't a natural stone is goldstone, which is a centuries-old hand-made glass with copper crystals — we say so explicitly on those products.

How do I care for the inlay?

General rules: water, soap, sweat, and lotion are fine on every UJC inlay. Avoid extreme heat (saunas, steam-cleaners), harsh chemicals (acetone, bleach, chlorinated pools), and ultrasonic cleaners — these can damage stones, glass inlays, or the gold itself. Each product page has the specific care guidance for that material in The [Inlay] section. Wipe the ring with a soft cloth to keep both the gold and the inlay clean.

Do you offer custom sizes, widths, or engraving?

Yes. We make every ring to order in your exact size, including half sizes and sizes below 5 or above 14. Custom widths are usually possible — reach out before ordering with what you want and we'll quote the timeline. Inside engraving is free with every order: text, dates, coordinates, fingerprints, handwriting, signatures, or custom artwork. Engraving is permanent and laser-etched.

What does "comfort-fit" mean?

Comfort-fit means the inside of the ring is gently domed instead of flat. The dome lets the ring slide on cleanly and rests on the finger without pinching, which makes a solid 14k gold band — which has real weight to it — comfortable for all-day wear. Every UJC ring is comfort-fit by default.

What if I don't like it when it arrives?

We offer a 30-day return on UJC rings, the same as the rest of the catalog. Because each ring is made to order in your exact size, returns on UJC items are reviewed individually — reach out and we'll make it right. Lifetime warranty and free resizing apply once you've decided to keep it.
