SPADE | Black Tungsten Brushed Domed Center Polished Beveled Edge Wedding Ring — 8mm
The SPADE is a handcrafted black tungsten carbide men's wedding band, 8mm wide, with a brushed matte black tungsten domed center flanked by mirror-polished black tungsten beveled edges. Built comfort-fit, laser-engravable, and backed by our lifetime warranty — a clean single-tone two-finish wedding band where matte dome meets polished edge in pure black.
The Metal
Tungsten carbide is the hardest wedding-band metal made — roughly 4× harder than titanium and 10× harder than 18k gold. That's not marketing language; it's a measurable Mohs hardness of 8.5–9. In practical terms: this band will not scratch from keys, tools, gym equipment, or daily contact with desks, steering wheels, or phone cases. It will look the same in five years as it looks the day you open the box.
The black tone is a PVD (physical vapor deposition) finish — bonded to the tungsten core at the molecular level, not a paint or plating. It won't peel, strip, or wear through. The metal is fully hypoallergenic and nickel-free. The domed profile curves gently from edge to edge, and the beveled edges chamfer the outer perimeter — giving the ring a soft crown with crisp shoulder transitions. Both the matte center and the polished edges share the same black tone.
The Brushed Domed Center with Polished Beveled Edges
The SPADE is a single-color ring with two different finishes — all black, but the domed center is brushed matte while the beveled edges are mirror-polished. That finish contrast reads clearly in almost any light: matte dark dome flanked by bright reflective beveled borders.
The brushed grain is cut into the tungsten before PVD, so the grain stays structural. The polished bevels act as bright trim at the shoulders of the ring, catching light sharply against the quiet matte center. From a distance the ring reads solid black; up close the two-finish break is what gives it depth. It's a masculine blacked-out wedding band with zero color but real visual contrast.
Who It's For
The SPADE is for the man who wants a fully black wedding band with subtle dimension — no second color, no inlay, nothing flashy — just quiet contrast between matte and polished. If you wear all-black design, prefer minimalism over decoration, or want a wedding band that reads considered rather than loud, this is the band.

Lifetime Warranty
Every Aydins ring is covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. If something fails because of how the ring was made, not how it was worn, we'll take care of it through our warranty process.
What's Covered
- Manufacturing defects in the ring or its finish
- Premature failure of plating, coatings, or inlays under normal wear
- Stone setting failure caused by the manufacturing process
- Defects in the metal or material itself
What's Not Covered
The warranty covers how we built the ring, not what happens to it after you take it home. The following aren't covered:
- Damage from drops, sharp impact, or excessive force
- Wear caused by chlorine, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning, or improper care
- Lost rings
- Damage from at-home sizing or resizing attempts (always use the Lifetime Sizing Program)
- Normal cosmetic wear over time on softer metals (small scratches, patina)
Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program
Your finger size will change over the years. The Lifetime Sizing Program is how we make sure your ring keeps fitting, no matter how long you've owned it.
It works like this:
- If your size changes at any point in your life, we will send you the same ring in your new size for a small re-sizing fee, not the full retail price.
- You ship your original ring back to us, and we ship the replacement out to you.
- The full process is handled through our Returns & Exchanges portal, so you can track everything from start to finish.
The exact process depends on the metal (some can be resized, others are replaced), but the outcome is the same: you stay in a ring that fits, for life.
How to File a Claim or Request a Resize
Visit our Returns & Exchanges page to start any warranty claim, resize request, or return. You'll be guided through our self-service portal, where you can submit your claim, upload photos if needed, and track status from start to finish.
For warranty claims, please include a clear photo of the ring so we can confirm coverage before shipping a replacement.
Our Promise
Aydins has been making rings since 2011. The warranty and the sizing program exist for one reason: a wedding band is supposed to last as long as the marriage. We build the ring to do that, and we back it for as long as you wear it.
How does inside engraving work?
Free with every order. You can engrave text, dates, coordinates, fingerprints, handwriting, signatures, or a custom image. Standard fonts are included; if you want a specific font or custom artwork, send us a sample after checkout and we'll match it. Engraving is permanent and laser-etched, not stamped.
Do you offer custom sizes or widths?
Yes, within reason. We can do half sizes, sizes below 5 and above 15, and non-standard widths on most styles. Reach out before ordering with what you need and we'll quote the timeline. Some materials (ceramic, full-engraved patterns) have manufacturing limits we'll be upfront about.
Which material is right for me?
Tungsten is hardest and most scratch-resistant; great for daily wear and active hands. Titanium is lighter, hypoallergenic, and softer in feel. Ceramic is hard like tungsten but lighter and a true permanent black. Solid 14k gold is softer than tungsten and will pick up character marks over time, which most buyers like; pick gold if you want a traditional precious metal. Each ring's Material tab covers the specifics for that piece.
Are your rings really handcrafted?
Yes. Every Aydins ring is hand-finished, hand-inspected, and hand-engraved in our workshop before it ships. We've been doing this since 2011. That's why standard turnaround is 1 to 3 business days and not same-day; the quality check takes a beat.
Free Shipping
Every order ships free anywhere in the United States with no minimum. Free shipping is also available to Canada, Australia, and the United Kingdom on orders of $90 USD or more.
Processing Time
Most orders ship within 1 to 5 business days. Engraved rings, custom sizes, and special widths can add a day or two; we'll let you know if your order needs extra time.
Express and Next-Day Delivery
Available at checkout for an additional fee. Express options reduce transit time after the order ships, but standard processing time still applies before the package goes out.
In-Store Pickup
Available within 1 to 5 business days for local customers. Select pickup at checkout.
International Shipping
We ship worldwide to most countries. If yours isn't listed at checkout, contact us and we'll work something out. Delivery times vary by destination. UPS and FedEx Express options are available for faster international transit.
Returns and Exchanges
For the full process, visit our Returns & Exchanges page. Size exchanges, defects, and warranty claims are all handled there.
What Tungsten Carbide Is
Tungsten carbide is an industrial-grade metal originally developed for cutting tools and high-wear applications. When refined for jewelry, it produces a wedding band that's harder, denser, and more wear-resistant than gold, platinum, or titanium. It rates about 9 on the Mohs hardness scale, which puts it just below diamond and roughly four times harder than steel.
For a wedding band you'll wear every day for the next forty years, that hardness is the whole point.
Why People Choose It
- Scratch-resistant. Tungsten holds its finish under daily wear in a way that precious metals can't. Gold scuffs, platinum dulls, tungsten doesn't.
- Substantial weight. Tungsten is nearly twice as dense as steel. The ring has real presence on the finger, which most people read as quality.
- Permanent shine. The polish is mechanical, not a coating. It doesn't fade or soften with age.
- Hypoallergenic. All Aydins tungsten is cobalt-free, so it won't cause the skin reactions that older or low-grade tungsten can.
- Affordable. A tungsten band runs a fraction of the price of a comparable gold or platinum ring with no sacrifice in durability.
The Tradeoff Worth Knowing
Tungsten's hardness is also its only real limitation. Where gold or platinum will bend under a sharp impact, tungsten can crack or shatter. This is rare in normal wear, but it's worth understanding before you buy.
Two practical things follow from this:
- It can't be cut off the finger with traditional ring saws. In an emergency, a hospital uses a small tool to crack the ring at two points, which removes it cleanly. Most ERs are familiar with this.
- Resizing isn't done by stretching. If your size changes, we replace the ring through the Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program rather than try to bend it. It's how the category works.
Comfort Fit, Explained
Every Aydins tungsten ring features a comfort-fit interior. The inside of the band is gently domed rather than flat, which reduces friction on the finger and keeps the ring sitting smoothly even when your hand swells slightly (from heat, humidity, exercise, or long flights).
One note on sizing. Comfort-fit rings often run a half size larger than standard fit, so if you've measured for a non-comfort-fit ring before, order a half size down. If you're unsure, our Ring Sizing Guide has three different ways to find your size at home.
Plated Finishes (Gold, Rose Gold, Black)
Some of our tungsten rings are finished with an ion-plated (IP) coating in gold, rose gold, or black. The plating is bonded to the tungsten core through high-energy ion deposition, which makes it considerably more durable than electroplating. It's designed for daily wear and rated to resist scratching, fading, and wear better than painted or anodized finishes.
To extend the life of any plated finish:
- Avoid extended chlorine exposure (pool, jacuzzi)
- Avoid harsh chemicals (bleach, solvents)
- Clean with mild soap and water, not abrasive cleaners or ultrasonic cleaners
Care & Cleaning
- Wipe down with mild soap and warm water, dry with a soft cloth.
- Skip the ultrasonic cleaners and chemical jewelry dips. Tungsten doesn't need them, and plated finishes don't tolerate them well.
- Take the ring off for chemical exposure: pool chlorine, harsh cleaners, certain solvents.
- Otherwise, wear it. Tungsten is built for everyday life. That's the whole point of the metal.
Lifetime Coverage
Every Aydins tungsten ring is backed by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects and the Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program. If your size ever changes, we get you into a ring that fits through the sizing program. Both are handled through our Returns & Exchanges portal, and the full warranty terms are listed on the Warranty tab.
The promise behind both is simple: a wedding band is supposed to last as long as the marriage. We build the ring to do that, and we back it for as long as you wear it.
