Lab-Grown. Better Conscience.

Lab-grown means no mining. No conflict-zone sourcing. No environmental disruption. Chemically and optically identical to mined diamonds, graded by the same IGI standards, priced at roughly half. Same diamond. Better story.

The 4Cs

  • Carat: total carat weight per pair from 1/4 ctw up to 2 ctw (each earring holds half the total)
  • Color: F+ (colorless, near the top of the color scale)
  • Clarity: VS+ (very slight inclusions, eye-clean)
  • Cut: Excellent oval, optimized for maximum sparkle
  • Shape: Oval
  • Origin: Lab-grown (chemically and optically identical to mined diamond)
  • Certification: IGI certified, physical certificate ships with every pair

The Setting

  • Metal: 14k Yellow Gold, 14k White Gold, 18k White Gold, or Platinum
  • Style: Classic 4-prong basket solitaire
  • Back type: Post and push-back closure in matching metal
  • Sizes available: 1/4, 1/3, 1/2, 3/4, 1, 1 1/2, and 2 ctw total weight per pair

About the Oval

Oval brilliant cut is an elongated version of the round brilliant. Facet pattern maximizes sparkle. The elongated shape looks slightly larger than a round of the same carat weight and creates a flattering, elegant line on the ear.

Choosing your size

Diamond stud size is measured in total carat weight (ctw), which is the combined weight of both stones. A pair sold as 1 ctw means each earring holds a 1/2 ctw stone.

  • 1/4 ctw pair: approximately 4.0 x 3.0mm per stone
  • 1/3 ctw pair: approximately 4.5 x 3.4mm per stone
  • 1/2 ctw pair: approximately 5.2 x 3.9mm per stone
  • 3/4 ctw pair: approximately 6.0 x 4.5mm per stone
  • 1 ctw pair: approximately 6.7 x 5.0mm per stone
  • 1 1/2 ctw pair: approximately 7.6 x 5.7mm per stone
  • 2 ctw pair: approximately 8.4 x 6.3mm per stone

Which metal should you pick

  • 14k Yellow Gold: classic warm yellow. Pairs with most skin tones. Best price-to-status ratio for a real gold piece.
  • 14k White Gold: bright cool-white finish. Rhodium-plated for extra shine. Refreshes every few years for best look.
  • 18k White Gold: higher gold content, richer warmer white. Slightly softer than 14k, holds detail well.
  • Platinum: the forever-white metal. Naturally nickel-free. Densest, most secure setting. Best long-term investment for daily-wear studs.

Why Lab-Grown Diamonds

Lab-grown diamonds are chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds. Same crystal structure, same 10-of-10 hardness on the Mohs scale, same refractive index that makes diamonds sparkle. The only difference is how they are made. Lab-grown stones use less water, no mining, no conflict-zone sourcing, and cost roughly half as much for equivalent quality.

What is Included

  • Your matched pair of studs in your chosen metal and size
  • IGI diamond grading report (physical certificate) for each stone
  • Aydins signature gift box
  • Free gift-box engraving or gift-note engraving on request
  • Free U.S. shipping (FedEx 2-Day on orders $80 and up, USPS Ground Advantage under $80)

Aydins Lifetime Warranty

Every pair is backed by the Aydins Lifetime Warranty against material defects and structural failures (a lost stone from prong failure, a broken post). Coverage is free the first 6 months. Because gold and platinum prices move with the market, warranty repair or replacement fees after 6 months on precious metal pairs are quoted per case based on current metal prices at the time. Contact us before starting a claim and we will send a current quote.

Returns and Exchanges

30-day returns on unworn, undamaged pairs (customer pays return shipping, $25 restocking fee applies). No returns on engraved gift boxes. Free 30-day exchanges on unengraved pairs.

IGI Certification

Every Aydins lab-grown diamond stud is independently graded and certified by the International Gemological Institute (IGI). Your pair ships with the physical IGI certificate for each stone, documenting the exact 4Cs of your specific diamonds.

Independent verification available at igi.org using the certificate number.

Shipped from the heart of Texas. Since 2011.

Lifetime Warranty

Every Aydins ring is covered by a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects. If something fails because of how the ring was made, not how it was worn, we'll take care of it through our warranty process.

What's Covered

  • Manufacturing defects in the ring or its finish
  • Premature failure of plating, coatings, or inlays under normal wear
  • Stone setting failure caused by the manufacturing process
  • Defects in the metal or material itself

What's Not Covered

The warranty covers how we built the ring, not what happens to it after you take it home. The following aren't covered:

  • Damage from drops, sharp impact, or excessive force
  • Wear caused by chlorine, harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaning, or improper care
  • Lost rings
  • Damage from at-home sizing or resizing attempts (always use the Lifetime Sizing Program)
  • Normal cosmetic wear over time on softer metals (small scratches, patina)

Aydins Lifetime Sizing Program

Your finger size will change over the years. The Lifetime Sizing Program is how we make sure your ring keeps fitting, no matter how long you've owned it.

It works like this:

  • If your size changes at any point in your life, we will send you the same ring in your new size for a small re-sizing fee, not the full retail price.
  • You ship your original ring back to us, and we ship the replacement out to you.
  • The full process is handled through our Returns & Exchanges portal, so you can track everything from start to finish.

The exact process depends on the metal (some can be resized, others are replaced), but the outcome is the same: you stay in a ring that fits, for life.

How to File a Claim or Request a Resize

Visit our Returns & Exchanges page to start any warranty claim, resize request, or return. You'll be guided through our self-service portal, where you can submit your claim, upload photos if needed, and track status from start to finish.

For warranty claims, please include a clear photo of the ring so we can confirm coverage before shipping a replacement.

Our Promise

Aydins has been making rings since 2011. The warranty and the sizing program exist for one reason: a wedding band is supposed to last as long as the marriage. We build the ring to do that, and we back it for as long as you wear it.

FAQ's

Are these real diamonds?

Yes. Lab-grown diamonds are 100% real diamonds. Chemically, optically, and physically identical to mined diamonds. Same 10-of-10 Mohs hardness, same refractive index, same brilliance. The only difference is origin: lab-grown stones form in a controlled lab environment in 4 to 6 weeks instead of millions of years underground. Any certified gemological lab (IGI, GIA, GCAL) will test them as real diamonds and issue a full diamond report. You will not see a difference with a loupe, a jeweler scope, or the naked eye.

What does IGI certified mean?

IGI is the International Gemological Institute, the world's largest independent lab-grown diamond certifier. Every stone in this listing is graded by IGI for its 4Cs (Carat, Color, Clarity, Cut) and comes with a physical certificate documenting the specific measurements of that stone. The certificate has a unique report number you can verify at igi.org. This gives you an independent, third-party guarantee of quality and eliminates any question about what you paid for.

What quality tier are these stones?

F+ color, VS+ clarity across every pair. F+ means F color or better on the D-to-Z color scale, which is the colorless range (D, E, F). VS+ means VS2 clarity or better, which is eye-clean at normal viewing distance and any inclusions require magnification to spot. This is the premium quality tier most jewelers advertise as top-grade. We use this tier across every metal and every size in this listing.

Why choose oval over round?

Oval brilliant cut is an elongated version of the round brilliant. Facet pattern maximizes sparkle. The elongated shape looks slightly larger than a round of the same carat weight and creates a flattering, elegant line on the ear. It is a great choice when you want something distinctive from the classic round solitaire while keeping the timeless brilliance of a diamond stud. All the same quality metrics apply (F+/VS+, IGI certified) so you are choosing purely on aesthetic preference.

How do lab-grown compare to mined diamonds in price?

Roughly 50 to 70 percent less for equivalent quality and size. A mined 1 ctw F/VS+ IGI-certified round pair in 14k white gold retails around $5,000 to $8,000 at mainstream jewelers. Our lab-grown equivalent retails at a fraction of that. The price difference is entirely on the stone side, not on the setting or the quality of the finished pair. You get the same visible product, same 4C grading, same IGI certificate, for a fraction of the cost.

How do I care for lab-grown diamond studs?

Same care as mined. Wipe with a soft microfiber cloth after wear to remove skin oils and lotion residue. Once a month, soak in warm water with a drop of dish soap for 10 minutes, then rinse and pat dry. Avoid ultrasonic cleaners on the smallest sizes (vibration can loosen small prongs over time). Store separately in the padded box that comes with your pair to prevent the stones from scratching each other. Take them off before applying hairspray, perfume, or heavy lotions.

What warranty, returns, and sizing policy backs these earrings?

Aydins Lifetime Warranty covers material defects and structural failures (a lost stone from prong failure, a broken post) for as long as you own the pair. Coverage is free the first 6 months. Because gold and platinum prices move with the market, warranty repair or replacement fees after 6 months on precious metal pairs are quoted per case based on current metal prices at the time. Contact us before starting a claim and we will send a current quote. Free 30-day return window on unworn, undamaged pairs (customer pays return shipping, $25 restocking fee applies). Full policy at shopaydins.com/pages/returns-exchanges.
